CLASS SCHEDULE

II hereby waive any and all claims against the academy, the owners, or its instructors, that may arise out of any instruction or practice session in which I or my child participate in and assume any risk incident to this activity.

Yellow Belt Requirements


Demonstrate and Understand Commands:


Chario- come to attention, arms and hands at side, feet together.


Kyungee- bow to practice partner and instructor feet together, hands at
the side and bow.


Shio- at ease, arms crossed behind back, feet slightly apart.


Ki-yah- spirit yell for self defense and confidence


Left stance- left side facing forward, guard up to protect.


Right stance- right side facing forward, guard up to protect.


Demonstrate Basic Techniques:


Front kick- defensive kick to the body, weapon is the ball of the foot


Side kick- defensive, kick to the body, weapon is the heel of the foot


Round kick- defensive kick to the body, weapon is the instep of the foot.


Punches- front punch and reverse punch, hook punch, crosses, uppercuts, hammer fist, palm heels

Knees


Self Defense Techniques:


Two hand wrist Grab- attacker grabs wrist with both hands, defender escapes by using their free hand to grab their trapped hand, pulls up and away from attacker, executes a palm heel strike to the attacker’s nose. Click for video


Escape from a Front Choke- Defender pushes attacker’s chin, driving the head back using a palm heel, stepping forward with the same leg as the hand that you are attacking with and then following with the same pattern but now your palm heel will strike that attacker’s solar plexus. Click for video


Front Bear Grab- (around arms) Defender stomps attacker’s foot, drops their
weight down, widening their base, places their hands on the attacker’s hips and steps forward driving their hands into the attacker’s hips while steeping forward at the same time, brings their hands up to protect then follows with a palm heel to the attacker’s nose.  Click for video


Rear Bear Grab- (around arms) Defender stomps attackers foot just like in the front bear grab, drops their weight so you widen your base, throw your arms up, execute rear elbow strikes to the ribs of the attacker, then step forward bringing your hands up to protect, then look over your shoulder and throw a side kick into your attacker striking either the solar plexus or the groin.     Click for video

Sparring Students are required to have sparring gear in order to test.
